Peacock pendent

For the bling challenge I decided that the beautiful male peacock would fit the brief perfectly, the tail with its amazing display brings joy to all.
To make this piece more unique I chose to use lab created amethysts and firable crystals for a lilac/purple colour way, these were then enhanced with diluted alcohol inks.
The 38 stones were individually set in 999 art clay silver before adding to the main body of the pendent which was formed to show the shape of the full tail. The eyes were made from embedded black crystals.
The head and body were sculpted separately and then added to give the piece depth and dimension , the back was textured with a symmetrical design.
I wanted the back and front undisturbed by the hanging links so these were added on the outer edge to leave the texture undisturbed.
The piece is finished with a 22 inch 1.9mm snake chain with a handmade s clasp. The total weight excluding chain is 38gms
